Hilary J. Boone IV

My name is Hilary J Boone and I am running to represent the 12th district on the Urban County Council. This is where I was born and continue to live on a family farm with my wife and two young children.

My motivation for running is simple. Lexington is my chosen home and I want to make sure it continues as an amazing place for my family and yours. I strongly believe that includes preserving our rural landscape while balancing smart growth within the Urban Services boundary. Without it, we will lose our identity as the "Horse Capital of the World."

A growing city is a healthy city. It is about how we grow and where we grow. We must protect what makes Lexington special and encourage infill and redevelopment - that means growing up and not out.

After reviving my family's thoroughbred farm and also starting a restaurant called Boonedogs on Old Richmond Road, I am ready to accept the challenge of public service.

I will bring transparency, a willingness to listen and a fresh new perspective to the 12th district. And I will work diligently to preserve our irreplaceable agriculture corridor for generations to come.
